Our Frosty Writing

What super writers in Room 5

We have been working really hard on our writing and some of us are becoming more independent by having a go ourselves. Here Louis and Isla are working hard to record the sounds and the words that they need in their stories. Fabulous effort both of you. You make Mrs Scott very proud.

We have been learning about Perseverance

We have been learning about one of our School Values 'Perseverance'. We each thought about something we wanted to improve with in our learning and set a goal of tying to persevere with it. Read our goal and how we got on with it.

Our Published Writing - Bad Luck Duck

We listened to the story 'Bad Luck Duck' where poor duck got stuck in the mud and none of his friends would help in case they got stuck too. We put ourselves in Duck's place and thought of what we would do to get ourself out of the mud. Read our writing. I'm sure with these great ideas we would all have been able to get ourselves out of that yucky mud.

Our Sea Creatures

Last week was Sea Week. We designed our own sea creatures and then described them. Here's our published ones. We even named them ourselves.

Our writing about Powelliphanta Snails

Haki brought along a Powelliphanta snail shell. We all thought it looked very neat but none of us really knew anything about the Powelliphanta snail. We did some research and found out that these snails are not snails that you will find in your garden but you will find them on the West Coast of New Zealand where we live. For writing we wrote about something we learnt about the Powelliphanta snail and we would like to share our writing with you. I'm sure you will all learn something too. Thanks for bringing the shell along Haki.
