The 'at' Word Family

This week we are focussing on the 'at' word family.

The Trophies Winners for the 1st week of Term 3 were...........

Shae, Haki and Jasper. Well done you 3 for making it through your very 1st week at school. You did very well and we are all enjoying having you in Room 5. I bet you went home each night very tired. Keep up the great work.

Our 100 Days Smarter Hats

To celebrate 100 Days at school we made hats. Our Hats each had 10 strips of card and on each strip we put 10 things on e.g. stamps, stickers, sequins, bead. We learnt that 10 groups of 10 equals 100.
And here we are with our '100 Days Smarter' Hats. Most of us were really excited about wearing them to get our photo taken.

Room 5's Star Rocket Writers for Week 1 of Term 3 were.......

Charleigh and Lucy. Great job girls. Charleigh you wrote the most words in the class. Once again you earnt the Star for being the 'Leading Rocket' and Lucy got the Star for 'Making the Most Progress'. Lucy you wrote 12 more words than last time and rocketed to the next umbrella. Well done to you both.

Vinny's completed his Sight Word Fish!!

Awesome effort Vinny - you have completed all of your sight word fish. Fantastic work. Your fish has been caught in the net because you know all your words. Great job. You were swimming around in the big sea with all the other fish....
And now your fish is.....
And this is how you felt about completing your sight words

Olivia was the 'Star Is Born'

What a great 'Star Is Born' you were Olivia. You really enjoyed sharing your things with the class and you were a fabulous roll model to the others in the class as well. We all enjoyed writing your poem for you. Thanks Olivia - you certainly are a Star!!

Building a structure with 100 cups

Our goal was to build a structure with 100 cups. Leon worked really hard on creating his design and then took this photo for us to share. Great job Leon
Here is a photo of Tom concentrating really hard on his design. You haven't got too many more cups to go Tom.

100 Days at School

On the first day of Term 3 we celebrated 100 days at school. We were all very excited about this even if we hadn't all spent 100 days at school. Each morning we count the number of days we've had at school. This is what it looked like on Monday.

Room 5 and Room 1's Musical Talents!!

On Friday it was our turn along with Room 1 to host assembly. We shook our rice drums/shakers along to the music and Room 1 singing 'Kiwi Ukelele'. We got a wee bit stage shy when it came to our dancing but we all thought we did a great job and Mrs Scott and Mrs Phelps were proud of us too!! We made our own drums. Here we are, have a look. We're sure you will like it too!!

What do we want to be when we grow up?

Look at our great writing and listen to us sharing our writing with you. I'm sure when we are all grown up we will get to do these things.

Ed and Hilary were at Deegan's for the Weekend

My goodness Ed and Hilary, you both had another action packed weekend. It's no wonder you both sleep all Monday after you have had so many new adventures. You went to places you've never been to before. Mrs Scott hasn't been to the Waitaha Valley yet. And fancy ridng on a pony and a tractor and another ride on the motorbike. You are both such lucky bears. I think the kids in Room 5 must be the best soccer players in the team because we are getting to see the 'Player of the Day' trophy lots. Thanks Deegan for being a fantastic and responsible carer to Ed and Hilary. They loved their weekend.
