Looking at Worms
On Friday we used the magnifying lenses to look closely at worms. We could see all the segments on their body and we tried to look for the little hairs that help to grip onto the soil. A worm moves by using these fine hairs and strong muscles. We also learnt that worm poos are called castings and these castings help our soil which helps out plants to grow. We had a go at drawing what we could see.
Room 5 made a worm farm
We have been busy making a worm farm as part of our topic on Mini beasts.
Come and check it out in the classroom. We are going to be showing you soon how you can make one too!

Way to go Opal. Thanks for being a star on Reading Eggs last week. Reading Eggs is certainly assisting your progress. Well done.
Room 5's Star Rocket Writers for Week 6 were........
Opal and Olivia. Opal got the Star for writing the most words - 55, WOW!! Great work Opal and to think that only 15 weeks ago you could write a couple of words. Olivia got the Star for making the most progress. Great work Olivia for writing 14 more words than the previous week and you are not far away from Opal either. Great work both of you. Anyone in Room 5 that improved on their previous score is a Star. You all make Mrs Scott so proud.
PE on Thursday
Room 5 always looks forward to Helen coming on Thursday for PE. This week we played toilet tag which we all enjoyed and then we tried to control the soccer ball close to our feet. We loved it!!
