Olivia was the Rocket Writer Star for Week 10
On Friday Olivia wrote 39 words in 10 minutes to be the Rocket Writing Star for Week 10. What a fantastic effort Olivia. You earnt both the Rocket Writing Stars - 1 for being the Leading Rocket, which meant you wrote the most words in the class and the 2nd star for being the Rocket that's travelling the fastest - which means you made the most progress, writing 12 more words than last week. Wow, wow, wow!! What are you going to do this week Olivia? There are some rockets travelling not far behind. What a whizz, good girl!!
What a great day for PE today
Look at us playing ball tag for PE. It was lots of fun and it was great being outside in the sunshine.
Learning about Kaitiakitanga
One of our school values is Kaitiakitanga. We have been learning that Kaitiakitanga means to show respect and responsibility by looking after our environment. We thought about how we can show Kaitiakitanga in the classroom as well as in the playground. Each day we try to practise Kaitiakitanga. Look at how we can show Kaitiakitanga in our school.

Our Published Writing - Bad Luck Duck
We listened to the story 'Bad Luck Duck' where poor duck got stuck in the mud and none of his friends would help in case they got stuck too. We put ourselves in Duck's place and thought of what we would do to get ourself out of the mud. Read our writing. I'm sure with these great ideas we would all have been able to get ourselves out of that yucky mud.
The trophy winners for Week 9 were ......
Congratulations to Xahria and Zack who won the trophies for Week 9. You both displayed a positive attitude towards your learning and both showed that with perseverance and effort there is progress. Well done.
Olivia was the Rocket Writer of the Week
Congratulations to Olivia who was the rocket writer of the week. In ten minutes you wrote 27 words. What a fantastic effort Olivia, especially since you have only been at school for 6 weeks. You are learning your sounds and listening to the sounds you can hear in words and writing these down. Fantastic. You were Room 5's Leading Rocket this week. Congratulations!!
We are all making some great progress with our learning
Wow Room 5. You are all making some great progress with the learning of your alphabet letters and the sounds that these letters make. You blew us away with your progress this week. You should all feel very proud of yourselves. Mrs Scott and Miss MacLeod are certainly proud of you all.
How exciting to have 5 students swimming along to their 2nd sight word fish all on the same week. I wonder how fast your fish will swim? You may catch up with Connor on that 3rd fish soon. Mrs Scott had better get that 4th and 5th fish up on the wall. Well done super kids.
