Ed and Hilary went to Olivia's for the weekend

Thanks Olivia for the great weekend Ed and Hilary had staying with you. They sure are looking forward to getting out on that jet boat when the weather gets warmer. I'm pleased they got to spend some more time with Fidget your cat, they said he was a very friendly cat. Ed and Hilary are really going to miss their friends in Room 5 over the holidays. Maybe they might come home with Mrs Scott for a wee break.

Week 8's Star Rocket Writers of the Week

Last week's Star Rocket Writers were Charleigh and Rhys. Well done to you both. Charleigh you wrote the most words and Rhys you were awarded the Star for Making the Most Progress. There were also some other students who made some really pleasing progress as well. Go Room 5 Rocket Writers - you are all awesome!! Charleigh and Rhys were very happy with themselves.

Ed and Hilary went to Maruia

Lucky Ed and Hilary!! They went off to Maruia Springs for the weekend. They had never visited there before. Haki took great care off them and when they arrived back to school today they were exhausted. They got to milk a cow which was another first for them and were eye to eye with an ostrich. They are such well loved and happy bears. Thanks Haki.

Haki was Room 5's 'Star Is Born'

Haki you were a fantastic role model to others in the class as our 'Star Is Born'. You brought along lots of things to share and we found out lots of things we didn't already know about you. Thanks for doing a super job. Room 5 enjoyed writing your poem together.

The Rocket Whizz for Week 6 was.........

Charleigh. Congratulations Charleigh for a super effort on your rocket writing. You wrote 80 words and jumped onto the next umbrella. You pet your best score by 14 and are getting closer and closer to that ice cream. Super effort.

I really like the way you were able to write word families as well as word endings to write new words e.g, rat, rats, cat, cats. You also wrote lots of the sounds we have been working on in phonics. Here are all the words you wrote Lots of others in the class made some great progress this week too!! Keep it up Room 5, you are great rocket writers.

Ed and Hilary went to Renny's House

Ed and Hilary went to stay at Renny's house last weekend. They had a lovely time and it was great to see that Renny shared them with her little brother too!! Look at all the exciting things they got up to. Thank you very much Renny for taking such great care of our classroom bears and yes they have already asked if they can go back to your house one day.
